Lake Staz in the municipality of Celerina is perhaps the most popular bathing lake in the Upper Engadine. On its eastern shore there is a bathing area with a wooden jetty, changing cabins and toilets. A barbecue area and the “Restorant Lej da Staz” are available for refreshments.
At more than three kilometers long and around 1.4 kilometers wide, Lake Silvaplana (Lej da Silvaplauna) is one of the largest lakes in the Engadin. Whether windsurfing, kitesurfing or sailing - water sports enthusiasts are guaranteed to get their money's worth here.
Thanks to its shallow depth, Lake Staz (or Lej de Staz) manages to maintain quite pleasant temperatures in summer. This is why it is at the top of the list when it comes to bathing lakes in the Upper Engadin. Access is free of charge.
Lake Cresta in Flims is particularly family-friendly. With its shallow water, a fire pit and surrounded by a picturesque forest clearing, the lake offers a safe and pleasant environment for families. Here, children can play safely and enjoy nature.
Most of the mountain lakes in the Engadin are easily accessible on foot or by public transport. Many lakes can also be reached via hiking trails, which makes getting there part of the experience.
